I'm Rafael, a software engineer from Veracruz, Mexico, living in Nuremberg. I'm a Senior Software Engineer at noris network, where I work across frontend, backend and ServiceNow in a multidisciplinary, international team.

Since 2010 I've been co-founder and CTO of Technit, a Mexican software company. I own the technology side: stack decisions, infrastructure, delivery and the team that builds it. Together we've shipped more than 30 mobile and cloud apps.

I like the part of software where a business problem turns into an architecture, and the architecture turns into something a team can build and maintain.

    Analysis, development, documentation and rollout of software solutions across the company.

    • Built the company intranet from scratch to production, with LDAP authentication and role-based security across MariaDB, SQL Server and Sybase.
    • Maintained and extended the SQL Server data warehouse and wrote reporting views for the controlling department.
    • Put real-time KPI dashboards on monitors around the building (Docker, Ruby).
    • Set up Icinga 2 for system and network monitoring, and built an iOS and Android app for the management board.

    Technology lead of a Mexican software and design company building tailor-made mobile apps and cloud software. More than 30 apps shipped.

    • Owns the technology stack, infrastructure and IT operations.
    • Plans and supervises delivery across the software development life cycle.
    • Works with clients to define requirements and present solutions, and manages project budgets.
    • Recruits and leads the development team.

  • Designed and built the application end to end.
  • Connected it to the LDAP server for sign-in and an employee list that updates itself.
  • Implemented user- and role-level security.
